Network Critical Taps
I’ve been looking into various network taps lately and I was referred to a company called Network Critical. I’d never heard of them before and was wondering if anyone else out there has used them? I’m also looking at Fluke Networks and NetOptics taps, but the more vendors I can review, the better I’ll feel about the eventual decision. Anyone have other tap companies they’d like to suggest? I need a multiport aggregator tap, with multiple outputs. Let me know what you use.

We frequently provide the Network Critical taps to our customers who need a tap to use with our appliance, and have found them to be pretty reliable and without problems. We also have a couple of the Abraxis taps that we use in the lab. A good person to give a technical review of this and other taps is probably Richard over at Tao Security I know he has written several times about the NetOptics taps in the past.
Garth,
Funny you should mention Richard B. About the same time I posted this I sent him off an email with the same question. He replied to me last night with a couple of suggestions, Network Instruments (http://www.networktaps.com/) and Securicore (http://www.securicore.ca/). I’m going to check these out and see if will fulfil our current needs. I met with Fluke yesterday, and they may have a product that meets my needs, but apparently it’s so new the salesman new of it’s existance, but no details.
Thanks for the information and I’ll post here when I’ve done some testing.
