More stolen data
Here’s another example of a stolen system that contained the private information of company employees. At least in this case Union Pacific Railroad seems to be doing the right thing and is offering their employees credit monitoring.
Companies need to make certain that their employees aren’t taking home sensitive information. Making it policy isn’t enough; they need to have the technology in place to prevent this information from leaving the premise. There needs to be education within the company to make employees aware of why taking this data home is such a bad idea. The best thing a business could do is to make it easier to access the data remotely rather than having it available locally. After all, most people are lazy when it comes down to it.
