JOAT! Yes, I had forgotten you. I didn't know you were still blogging in some form or another. Do you still count if you're not blogging about security? That's up to you to decide.

As for "still blogging", have your forgotten about me (since Jan 2003)? I'm still around though topics have drifted away from security somewhat. - joat

While maybe he didn't call it a "blog", I distinctly remember Rob Rosenberger writing security columns on vmyths.com as far back as '01 or '02, at least.

Although initially just in Portuguese, my first post (about security) is dated from January 27th, 2003. Interesting , it was about SQL Slammer, that hit just a few days before. At the time I blogged about there wasn't a definitive name being used by all, so I also mentioned "Sapphire", which was being used by one of the av companies:

Its perfectly okay to make design comments now, it's been over half a decade and I'm no longer sensitive to my failings as a web designer. That's why I let someone else do the design and worry about the content. I do occasionally post content from time to time, honest.

I haven't found the Win2K Services paper yet, it's not on my hard drive, though I'll look through some of my old CD's to see if I can find a copy of it. I still have a hard copy of the paper, which I may scan in if I can't find the Word document. There's no way I'm retyping 18 pages of tables and text.

Check out the Center for Internet Security, they have a lot of benchmarks for OS's and applications.

woohoo. That page is straight outta Netscape design hell. I know you said not to comment on the web design, but I couldn't help it. I wouldn't mind seeing an updated version of the Windows services to disable for 2k3 or 2k8.
